How to get on

Subscribe or be a Member

Members skip this step. Everyone else subscribes, $10 a month or $108 a year, one subscription per child. Email us or ask at either studio and we send the checkout link.

Email hello@affinityesports.gg with your child's first name, age, Minecraft Java username and Discord username if they have one.

Play

We whitelist the username on both servers, add the Minecraft Server role in our Discord, and email the server address, the Modded setup steps and the rules.

Pricing

One subscription covers one child on both servers. Cancel any time.

Java Survival Vanilla setup

Two steps on the family computer. The server address comes in your welcome email.

Pick the version and add the server

In the Minecraft launcher, choose version 26.3. Then Multiplayer, Add Server, and paste the address from your welcome. Your username must already be whitelisted.

Claim your base

Claim your base with a golden shovel so it is protected; the signs at spawn show how. PvP is off.

Java Survival Modded setup

Three steps on the family computer. The server address comes in your welcome email.

Install the modpack

All the Mods 10 (ATM 10) through the CurseForge app. Install exactly the version named All the Mods 10-5.5; another version will not connect.

Add the server

Multiplayer, Add Server, paste the address from your welcome. Your username must already be whitelisted.

Claim your land

Claim with FTB Chunks and add trusted friends to your team. Never set claimed chunks to force-load without the admin's permission; the host has limited memory.

Rules and expectations

Every player, and a parent or guardian, agrees to these rules before we whitelist a username. They apply on every Affinity server and in the Minecraft channels of our Discord, in text and in voice. Breaking them can mean a warning, a mute, a temporary ban or a permanent ban, and a parent hears from us when it goes past a warning.

On every server

  • Be kind. No bullying, harassment, hate speech, slurs or threats, in chat, in voice, on signs or in builds.
  • Keep it family friendly. No swearing and no inappropriate builds, signs or words. Admins are notified of everything written on signs.
  • No griefing. Never break or change another player's build, and stay off claimed land unless the owner has let you in.
  • No stealing, including from chests, item frames and farms.
  • No cheating. No hacked or modified clients, x-ray, exploits or bug abuse. A cheat client gets you removed even if it did no harm.
  • No personal information. No real last names, schools, addresses, phone numbers or social accounts, yours or anyone else's.
  • One account, your own. Never share your login or let anyone else play on your whitelisted username.
  • Listen to mods and admins, and report problems to them instead of retaliating. A screenshot helps.
  • Staff decisions are final. The expectations we hold in the studio apply online the same way.

On Java Survival Vanilla

  • Claim your base with a golden shovel so it is protected. The signs at spawn show how.
  • PvP is off.

On Java Survival Modded

  • Claim your land with FTB Chunks and add friends to your team to trust them on it.
  • Never set claimed chunks to force-load without permission from the server admin. The host has limited memory.
  • Install exactly the modpack version we name. Another version will not connect.

In our Discord

  • Discord is 13 and up under Discord's own terms, or a parent-managed account for a younger player.
  • The same rules apply in the Minecraft text and voice channels.

When a rule is broken

Warning

A staff message naming the rule, noted on the roster.

Mute

Chat or voice turned off for a set time.

Temporary ban

One to seven days off the servers and out of the Minecraft channels. Mark writes to the parent the same day, with Kaohom copied.

Permanent ban

Whitelist and Discord role removed, and Mark writes to the parent. A cheat client, threats, sexual content or sharing personal information can go straight here.

When a subscription or Membership ends, the player comes off the whitelist and loses the Discord role seven days after the end date. We send one courtesy note first. Rejoining is one new subscription away.

Parent Guide

Everything on this page on one printable sheet: the servers, pricing, how to get on, the Modded setup and the rules.

Questions families ask

Which Minecraft do we need?

Java edition on a computer. A Bedrock, console, tablet or phone account cannot join either server.

Does one subscription cover both servers?

Yes. One subscription or Membership covers one child on both servers.

We have two children.

Each child has their own username and their own subscription. Members: each child in the household is covered by the Membership.

Who is watching?

Affinity staff run and moderate the servers and the Discord channels. The rules above are the same ones we use in the studio, and a parent hears from us when something happens.

Discord?

Optional, and the easiest way to hear server news. Discord is 13 and up under its own terms, or a parent-managed account for a younger player. The Minecraft Server role opens the server channels and voice.

Can we cancel?

Any time. Access ends seven days after the subscription or Membership ends, after one courtesy note.
